| Audionics,
the Sheffield based manufacturer of professional
broadcast equipment, recently launched a new Digital
Monitoring Unit at the Audio Engineering Society
Convention held in Paris. The unit allows studio
engineers to listen to both analogue and digital signals
within the same unit and since it was unveiled sixty
units have been sold, with Swiss and Swedish national
radio station amongst the first customers. The product
was developed by Audionics with help from a TCS programme
associate. The TCS, Teaching Company Scheme, which is sponsored by the Department of Trade and Industry, enables businesses to advance their knowledge and make strategic advances through its research and teaching arrangement with a University. Paul Debenham, a graduate from the University of York, worked alongside Audionics to help develop the new product. Digital products are becoming increasingly important in todays digital broadcast markets, where new services are being created all the time, such as the On-Digital television service and DAR digital radio. |
