| MBC, the
pan-Arab news and entertainment channel has taken
delivery of an AES Silence Detection System from
Audionics. The 16 channel system will be installed across
MBC’s main transmission outputs at their
headquarters in the Dubai Media Centre. The system is a new product from Audionics, which is based around an AES silence detector card, which has programmable fail level, time to fail and time to restore. The card has an auto changeover to a backup AES source. The detectors can sync to either external AES reference, wordclock or an internal reference. Sample rate converters are available on all main and backup sources. Up to 16 cards can be housed in a 3U card frame with external dual backed up power supply, or a 2 channel version is available in a 1U rackmount case. |
