| Description | |||
| The MCX1 audio switcher is a 24x1 mono or 12x1 stereo, 1U, 19" rackmount switcher with an integral power supply. It can be controlled in a number of ways: by front panel rotary encoder, remote rotary encoder or parallel binary. Two versions are available: the MCX1N, with a two digit numeric display and the MCX1S, which has an eight character alphanumeric display and offers the added flexibility of RS232 PC control. | |||
| Features | |||
| Inputs & Outputs: | Twenty four audio inputs via a rear panel 56 way Varicon and two electronically balanced outputs via rear panel XLRs. The switcher can be configured with internal headers to be either a 24x1 mono switcher or a 12x2 stereo switcher. | ||
Rotary Encoder Control: |
Often, the most expensive part of a matrix system is the control panel. The MCX1 features a novel control system: a simple shaft encoder with positive detents selects the required source and the display shows the source selected. As the encoder has continuous rotation the sources can be rolled over.
RS232 PC Control: |
The MCX1S can be controlled from a PC using an RS232 serial data link. In this mode, the MCX1S can provide mixing operation: multiple sources can be selected, giving a mixed output.
| Remote Control: | The MCX1 is available with either front panel control or a remote module for user installation into existing equipment. Remote connection should be with screened six core data cable, maximum length 30m. The screen should be connected to 0V. | ||
Parallel Binary Control: |
In order to interface with existing control systems, the MCX1 can also accept parallel binary data. In this mode the switcher can be supplied to operate as a sixteen input mixing matrix (please call for further details).
Reprogrammabble Source Names: |
The MCX1S has an eight character alphanumeric display, showing source names, which are stored in an EEPROM. They can be reprogrammed by the user, using a PC and Audionics control software. A two digit numeric display version (MCX1N) is also available.
| Options | |||
| Output Transformers: | The MCX1 can be supplied with optional transformer balanced outputs. | ||
| Customised Operation: | As the MCX1 audio switcher is software controlled, it is possible to customise its operation. For instance, as the unit can operate as a mixing matrix, a combination of mixes can be pre-programmed, each one identified by an alphanumeric description. The rotary encoder is then used to select the required mix. | ||
| The MCX1 can be configured for a wide variety of audio systems including transmission selectors, outside source selector, monitoring panels or workstation selectors. Thanks to the simplicity of the control and display remote modules it provides a straightforward way to install source selection into existing equipment. | |||
