| Description | |||
| The RMU remote monitor unit is a self contained 1U, rackmount, 10 input remote audio router. It is a simple solution to the problem of remote audio monitoring, dialling into the unit allows the user to quickly check the presence of audio on several audio paths and reduces fault finding time. | |||
| Features | |||
| Inputs: | Ten electronically balanced, mono inputs on rear panel XLRs. These may be safely conected accross programme paths, the input impedance is high enough not to affect the signal even in a fault condition. | ||
Control: |
Both remote DTMF and front panel control. The front panel switch steps through the channels. An acknowledge tone confirms correct remote control action.
Call Indication: |
A front panel LED shows that a call is in progress.
| Channel Indication: | Ten front panel LEDs show which channel has been selected. | ||
| Headphone Output: | Front panel monitoring point with volume control. | ||
| Control Output: | The standard RMU can control external equipment during the call connection period. Additionally an external balanced input can be mixed with the selected audio source. | ||
| AGC: | A compressor continually adjusts the audio level so that both nominally 0dBu and -10dBu signals can be easily monitored. | ||
| Applications | |||
| The RMU is ideal for transmission path confidence checking. Following a reported fault an on-call engineer can confirm the presence, or otherwise, of audio throughout the programme chain, significantly reducing the fault diagnosis time. | |||
| Options | |||
| A balanced output feed of the selected audio source, unbuffered. This male XLR connector replaces the control output connector. | |||
